LAYN operates Emergency, Transitional, and Long Term shelters. Our emergency home provides shelter for male and female runaway and homeless youth. Youth are allowed a 3-day emergency shelter service, which offers the opportunity for the youth to build trust with the staff and share information necessary to place them in longer-term care. Our transitional group home is designed to work with system youth or youth who are leaving home for the first time. And our long term group home is designed to work with system youth or youth who are leaving home for the first time. At this location, staff have more time to work with a young person and develop their potential. Self-sufficiency and independent living are the main house goals in order to empower youth to graduate into successful young adults.
