Ginny's Story
 |
|
"I was six months pregnant when I got
to the shelter. The baby's father split and my parents didn't want me there.
They have too many other kids. Even though I am 15, they figured I was old
enough to survive on my own. I guess it's the same thing that happened to
my mother, she had me when she was 15. LAYN made it possible for me to put
a new life together for both me and my baby."

The LAYN Response:
Community building and networking are essential components of the LAYN
case management system. When a young person comes in for assistance, LAYN
has the option to refer to other programs that are most appropriate or may
be designed to assist a particular type of person.
